Bouldering Project
We are so proud to have partnered with Bouldering Project as part of their wall building team. We have cut thousands of unique parts that have been incorporated into walls, support structure and volumes in both their Tempe and Seattle U-District locations. We love when we get to see where the cut parts end up. Lucky for us the Tempe location is close to our shop and we got to take a trip to see the Seattle location before they opened.
The process: BP’s wall designers send us files with all the designs and details. We cut the sheeting parts out of plywood to the specified size and shape with all the holes and angled edge profiles. For the internal rib structures, we cut all the layers of angled parts and then assemble them at our shop. We package everything up to be shipped to the project site. When the ribs and sheeting get to their location the installers can assemble the walls according to their engineering plans and can easily find all the parts since we label every part with an engraving bit. We have also cut parts for volumes for BP. These are not standard volumes, there are crazy angles and many sides, ranging from tiny to huge. For example there were 101 volumes made out of 738 unique parts, all individually programmed and labeled just for the Tempe location.
